The most popular and renowned Christmas festival is back: Candles at Candelara!

As always, the centre of the festival is reserved for the Christmas market held in the ancient mediaeval village in the hills around Pesaro, where every evening the artificial light is switched off to make way for thousands of lit candles.

For half an hour every afternoon Candelara (which owes its name to candles) will be completely illuminated by the warm and reassuring light of candles.

In this edition the festival will have, as per tradition, shows and animations as a backdrop to the magical event. These include luminous stilt-walkers; pixie players; jugglers; and pipers and bagpipe players.

It will also be possible to witness the making of candles in person, strictly from beeswax, as was done in the Middle Ages. The Candles at Candelara market will also feature wrought iron sculptures. These are silhouettes adorned with hundreds of candles that will draw the protagonists of the Nativity scene in the street of the Borgo. The Street of Cribs will be located within the castle walls this year.

Also this year, the popular Bottega degli Elfi (Elves' Workshop) will be open, with its workshops where hundreds of children will be able to work with various materials (clay, wax, paper, wood) and make Christmas-related decorations and figures. Children will be able to meet Santa Claus in his little house, take a photo and directly deliver a letter with their wishes.

Back at the festival, visitors will be able to admire more than sixty wooden houses displaying well-selected handicrafts, gifts and candles of all shapes, colours, scents and styles.

**From Thursday to Saturday, two daily activities for children: from 10 a.m. to noon and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., we will all have fun together under the guidance of our entertainment team with games and creative workshops to give free rein to dreams and creativity, decorating Christmas balls, greeting cards, snowmen and letters to Santa Claus. On Saturday, there will be a magical treasure hunt with an even sweeter ending: all children will find a small gift under the tree!
